I am three days out of the hospital. I really didn’t feel like writing down anything while I was in there, and I wanted to wait until I had the energy to write something of substance. I guess I’m ready for that.

Wow. What a night.
I seem to have scheduled this just in time for my vacation! My appendix ruptured on Friday morning at around 12:30 AM. I have never felt so much pain in my life.
My experience with LASIK
I did it. I got my eyes done with LASIK. And the results are amazing. I decided to write down my experience with the LASIK procedure so that others might know what really happens before, during, and after the procedure. Especially during, because there is no video or resource I have easily found that prepares you for that experience.

The Aliens helped a lot
Again, we are superstitious people now that we have a baby on our hands, and we don’t want to jinx things. That’s why I write with trepidation that Alex is sleeping through the night. From 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM the next day. Wow.
The Aliens have abducted our son
I don’t want to jinx it, but the little man slept through the night last night and the night before. Yes, that’s right, he slept through the night. And I’m not talking about the medical definition of sleeping through the night (12 AM to 5 AM). He slept MORE than that.
The New Parent’s Sleep Manifesto

Sleep report
Co-sleeping is still working…but we’ve proven that if he’s not in our bed, he doesn’t sleep well. Lately, he’s been waking up every hour when he’s in his crib from 7 PM to 11 PM; he never used to do that before. We figure his teething may be bothering him again.
A setback (sort of)
A couple of nights with no report. Should have reported on what happened two nights ago, because last night was awful. Angelica is in Virginia as I write this, and I was alone with Alex last night.

Night 4 of Co-Sleeping
Overall, the little guy is doing well. This morning he woke up at 5:30 AM and wouldn’t go back to sleep, so Angelica put him in his crib in the nursery where it’s still dark. Suffice it to say, he wanted to stay up, and he wanted someone to hold him while he did.
